A driver was reported to court and had their vehicle seized after being stopped in the Bradford district.
Police stopped the driver on Briggate in Shipley.
The Vauxhall driver told West Yorkshire Police he had missed an email saying his insurance was cancelled.
The car was promptly seized and the driver reported to court.
A force spokesperson said: "Keep an eye on those emails!
"The driver of this Vauxhall, after being stopped on Briggate, Shipley, must have missed the one that said his insurance policy was being cancelled.
"Now he's walking home to tidy up his inbox.
"Driver reported to court and vehicle seized."
