ITV is making a change to the Emmerdale and Coronation Street TV schedules this week due to the broadcaster airing the annual Pride of Britain Awards ceremony on Thursday, October 22.
It’s not unusual for ITV to broadcast a football match or an awards show, which will disrupt the usual schedule that soap fans are used to.
Here's what we know about the TV schedule for soaps in the coming days.
Emmerdale and Coronation Street soap schedules to change this week
While Emmerdale and Coronation Street will mostly follow their usual schedules this week, there is an exception.
That's because The Pride of Britain Awards will start from 8pm, when the usual slot is taken by Emmerdale, and it will end at around 10.05pm.
These broadcast times mean the awards ceremony will cross over both slots for Emmerdale and Coronation Street.
While the schedule looks different this week, soap fans will be able to watch Emmerdale at 9pm and Coronation Street at 9.30pm on Sunday, October 25.
This means they will still get to watch five new 30-minute episodes as they usually would each week.
Emmerdale star to leave ITV soap after 7 years
A popular Emmerdale star appeared to let slip that they’ll be leaving the ITV soap soon.
Talking on This Morning recently, Bradley Johnson, who plays Vinny Dingle, mentioned that he’d be part of an "exit storyline".
Sharon Marshall, who regularly discusses the soaps, appeared on the show at the same time and didn’t let the comment slip under the radar.
Johnson attempted to mull over what he’d said but eventually came clean and admitted he’s leaving the ITV show after 7.5 years.
The actor said: “Seven and a half years.
“It’s been an incredible journey.
“I’ve loved every second of it.”

On how it feels to be leaving the show, he said: “Honestly, everyone says it’s like a big family, but it really is, and you know, I’ve had the most incredible time with the most amazing people, all the cast and crew, directors, everyone I had the fortune to work with.
“I’m 30 next year, and I feel it’s a perfect time in my life to start a new chapter and it’s daunting and scary because this industry is hard, but I’m excited to get out there and see what’s next.”
