A County Durham mum who spent years hiding her figure under leggings and hoodies has celebrated her 40th birthday as Britney Spears after shedding one and a half stone.
Michelle Bulmer, from Stanley, decided it was time to put herself first after years of juggling full-time work and bringing up her two children.
And with her milestone birthday approaching in August 2025, she had one very special outfit in mind: the iconic figure-hugging red catsuit worn by Britney Spears in the music video for her smash hit Oops!... I Did It Again.
Determined to look and feel her best for the big occasion, Michelle embarked on a weight-loss journey that would not only help her slip into the famous outfit but also give her a new lease of life.

She joined Nadine Reay's Slimming World group at The Venue in Stanley, where she found the encouragement she needed to make lasting changes.
Michelle said: "I adored Nadine from the start. Hearing Nadine's journey made me feel instantly reassured; I knew I was in safe hands."
With the support of the group, Michelle went on to lose 1.5st, reaching her target weight just in time for her birthday celebrations.
And when the big day finally arrived, she was able to live out her pop star fantasy by stepping out in Britney's unforgettable red catsuit.

But while the outfit was the inspiration behind her transformation, Michelle says the biggest reward has been rediscovering her confidence.
"The biggest change is how I feel in my own skin," she said.
"I wear what I want now. Before, it was always leggings and hoodies. Now I feel confident dressing how I want to dress."
Michelle credits Slimming World's Food Optimising plan with helping her achieve her goal without having to completely overhaul her busy family life.
Rather than giving up the foods she enjoys, she has learned to make healthier choices and simple swaps while still allowing herself the occasional treat.

Exercise has also become an important part of her routine, with Michelle now attending Zumba classes twice a week and fitting in walks whenever she can.
The changes have helped boost her energy levels, fitness and wellbeing, as well as her confidence.
And although Michelle admits there have been challenges along the way, she says the encouragement she receives from fellow Slimming World members has made all the difference.
"They've been amazing," she said. "They help me refocus and keep on track."
