Joules has confirmed it will open its new North East store next weekend, with discounts, prizes and giveaways planned to mark its arrival.
Joules, which had over 120 UK shops, went into administration in November 2022 following financial pressures. Now, the company is preparing to open four new UK shops in Northallerton, Harrogate, Gretna and Basingstoke.
The British clothing and lifestyle brand's Northallerton store will open in a former Santander branch on the town's high street on Saturday, October 24.
It had already generated excitement in the town after Joules signs appeared in the windows of the previously empty unit, but the retailer has now confirmed full details of its launch.
The first 100 people through the doors will receive scratch cards giving them the chance to win a range of prizes, while hot drinks and macarons will also be available on opening day.
Customers will also be offered 20 per cent off when spending at least £50 across the opening weekend, with the promotion running on October 24 and 25.
Louise Brown, retail and property director at Joules, said: "We're thrilled to be opening in Northallerton.
"It's a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with our loyal customers whilst introducing Joules to a whole new audience."
The new shop will open from 9.30am until 5.30pm from Monday to Saturday and from 10am until 4pm on Sundays.
Excitement over Joules arrival
The unit, next to NatWest on Northallerton High Street, has been empty since Santander closed its branch in May this year.
News that Joules was preparing to move in was welcomed by a number of residents after Love Northallerton shared photographs of the signage on Facebook.

One person described it as a "brilliant addition to the high street", while another welcomed an empty unit being brought back into use.
Others were less enthusiastic about the retailer's prices and called for more affordable shops in the town.
Northallerton High Street was named among the best in Britain by Times readers in 2024.
