Yarm’s new Pan-Asian restaurant has announced its opening date.
Lotus Lounge, formerly known as Little Lotus when it operated at Sunningdale shops in Eaglescliffe, is set to open in the former Tomahawk next Saturday (October 24).
The firm, which first started in October 2024, has grown in popularity in the last two years for its dishes influenced by Thai, Cantonese and Japanese food.
Run by siblings Charlie and Sadie Eggleston, the business announced a rebrand to Lotus Lounge last month before confirming the move to the High Street.
Transformation works remain underway inside the former Tomahawk, which is run by the duo’s dad Howard Eggleston and will be fusing with Spanish food spot La Terraza upstairs.

Walls, booths and furniture have been ripped out, with pictures earlier this week showing the major revamp continuing as crews create a “new chapter” for the space.
A VIP launch night will be held next Friday (October 23) ahead of the official opening, with a lucky couple able to win a table by following instructions on the venue’s Facebook page.
Once open, the bar will also have a late-night license until 2am.
The Lotus Lounge name is already familiar to Yarm, with the original restaurant first being opened by Howard in July 2012.

It ran for several years before gradually being changed into a full Tomahawk venue.
La Terraza opened in the upstairs restaurant last October and has garnered rave reviews since.
It will now fuse its menu with Tomahawk before reopening with a mixture of Spanish-inspired food alongside premium steaks on Monday (October 19).
