A mum-and-daughter duo have brought a haunting Halloween pop-up shop to Darlington, and they believe it's the biggest in the North East
Fiona Jones, 61, and her daughter Sophie Harcourt, 37, have been selling costumes and spooky accessories in Halloween shops for 20 years, with pop-ups in Darlington, Stockton and Hartlepool.
Their shop on Priestgate opened on October 2 and will close on November 1, giving shoppers a few weeks to stock up on costumes, decorations and fancy-dress outfits.

Sophie said the family business has grown steadily over the past 20 years.
"We're a mother and daughter who have been doing pop-up Halloween shops for 20 years," she said.
"Every year we get bigger and bigger.
"We've gone really big this year."

The pair believe their Darlington shop is now the region’s biggest dedicated Halloween pop-up, packed with costumes and accessories ranging from classic horror characters to film and television favourites.
Sophie said shoppers had been stunned by the store’s size.
"The response has been really positive," she said.

"The customers have never seen so many costumes.
"Someone said that they went to Florida and they visited the largest Halloween shop in Florida and they said this is bigger and better.
"We've got everything, and I mean everything.
"Anything you want to go as for Halloween, we'll have it.
