A main road in York is set to close for resurfacing works later this month.
City of York Council said Heworth Green, which connects the city centre with parts of Monks Cross and the A1237 Outer Ring Road, will be shut from 7pm on Monday October 26 to 5am on Thursday, October 29, or until the resurfacing works are completed, whichever is earlier.
Vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding, parking, and waiting on Heworth Green between its junction with Hyrst Grove and the projected north-eastern boundary of property No 58.
An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed, directing them via Monkgate, Lord Mayors Walk, Gillygate, Bootham, Clifton, Shipton Road, A1237, and Malton Road.
It is envisaged that access for resident and emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the works period.
It is envisaged that the road will only be closed each night from 7pm to 5am during the works period.
Traffic signs and barriers will be in place to indicate the extent of the prohibition.
