ITV is switching up the Emmerdale and Coronation Street TV schedules next week due to the broadcaster airing the annual Pride of Britain Awards ceremony on October 22.
It’s not unusual for ITV to broadcast a football match or an awards show, which will disrupt the usual schedule that soap fans are used to.
Here's what we know about the TV schedule for soaps in the coming days.
Emmerdale and Coronation Street soap schedules to change next week
While Emmerdale and Coronation Street will mostly follow their usual schedules next week, there is an exception.
That's because the Pride of Britain Awards will start from 8pm, when the usual slot is taken by Emmerdale, and it will end at around 10.05pm
These broadcast times mean the awards ceremony will cross over both slots for Emmerdale and Coronation Street.
At the time of writing, it’s unclear whether fans will be able to watch an episode on Sunday instead.
Kelli Hollis confirms return to Coronation Street
A Coronation Street actress has revealed she will return to the ITV soap after a few months away.
Kelli Hollis, known for playing Paula in the popular soap, shared a video on Instagram confirming to fans that she’d be back on the show potentially as early as next week.
The actress, who has also starred in Emmerdale and Shameless, promised not to reveal spoilers, but assured fans her character’s stint on the show is “not going to be plain sailing”.
Hollis captioned the video: “Paula's back on the cobbles next week!
“No spoilers... but trust me, it's not going to be plain sailing.
“Tune in to find out.”
She reminded fans of Corrie that she appeared in the soap at the start of this year when her character was in prison.
Ms Hollis said she wasn’t sure but believes her scenes “start around the 19th, which is next week”.
ITV declined to comment.
