An annual charity ball is returning to York to raise funds for pancreatic cancer research.
Organised by the Three Bears Foundation, the Winter Charity Ball will take place at York Racecourse on Saturday, November 14, from 6.30pm until midnight.
The black-tie event will include a three-course meal, live music from the South West Band, and both silent and live auctions.
Roxy Tuohy, a trustee of the foundation, said: "Our Winter Ball is an amazing opportunity to bring together our fantastic supporters, volunteers and trustees to celebrate the impact we've made over the last 12 months and to share our plans for the future, and just have a brilliant night."
Last year’s ball raised more than £18,000, and organisers hope to surpass that total this year with the support of sponsors including York-based housebuilder Persimmon.
The Three Bears Foundation was established in 2018 in memory of Jane Burn, who died from pancreatic cancer.
The charity funds research, supports affected families, and raises awareness of pancreatic cancer, which remains one of the deadliest forms of the disease.
Kate Starkie, managing director of Persimmon Yorkshire, said: "As a York-based company, we're especially privileged to support such a fantastic event."
