A NEW after-dark industrial experience is set to light up the Worth Valley this Bonfire Night.

The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway (KWVR) will host FORGED, an immersive event running on November 5, 6 and 7 that combines a steam train journey with a dramatic live show of fire, light and sound.

Passengers will board a steam train and travel through the illuminated five-mile railway, arriving at a sensory performance inspired by the furnaces, foundries and heavy engineering of Britain’s industrial past.

Noel Hartley, business and operations manager at KWVR, said: "Steam locomotives are impressive at any time, but there is something very different about experiencing them after dark when you can really see the fire, steam and sheer power involved.

"FORGED takes that atmosphere and turns everything up several notches.

"It is a genuinely multi-sensory experience."

The event will feature fire cannons, pyrotechnics, high-pressure steam, mechanical sounds and a powerful soundtrack, all synchronised with lighting and special effects.

Mr Hartley said: "We wanted to do something genuinely different for Bonfire Night rather than simply stage another fireworks display.

"FORGED puts the railway and its industrial heritage right at the heart of the spectacle."
