Six-month-old 'sweet loving soul' kitten found abandoned in Leeds bin bag
The kitten was found by a resident who moved into a nearby property
A six-month-old kitten described as having a "sweet loving soul" has been rescued after being abandoned in a bin bag.
The kitten was found inside a soft cat carrier inside of a bin bag and left in a wheelie bin outside a property in Colenso Grove, in Holbeck, Leeds, on October 15. The kitten was rescued by a local who had moved into a nearby property earlier the same day.
Since then, the RSPCA have been investigating, but have been unable to find who was responsible.
RSPCA Animal Rescue Officer (ARO) Hannah Westen, who is leading the investigation, said: "This poor kitten was dumped in a bin like rubbish. She must have been terrified.
"She is such a sweet, loving soul, it beggars belief that someone would do such a thing.
"We are asking anyone who saw something suspicious to get in touch - even minor details could be important. If you saw someone with a cat carrier or bin bag, or saw something suspicious, please do contact us."
The kitten was dehydrated and had urine scalding which suggests she was kep in poor conditions. Now, the kitten is recovering and has been named Christine, after ARO Hannah's mother, who recently passed away.
