Blücherplatz in Kreuzberg has been renamed Eva-Mamlok-Platz

It is said that Eva Mamlok was already involved in the resistance at the age of 14. Now, a square named after her commemorates this Jewish woman from Kreuzberg.

A memorial was erected to mark the inauguration. According to a press release, District Mayor Clara Herrmann said: "Eva Mamlok was a Jewish woman from Kreuzberg who courageously resisted the Nazi dictatorship even as a teenager. Eva-Mamlok-Platz highlights this Jewish and female resistance in our district and gives it a permanent place in our culture of remembrance." She added that this memorial also serves as a call to action for the present day to take a firm stand against anti-Semitism.
