James May has given a "difficult" answer on a possible TV reunion with former Top Gear and Grand Tour stars Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond.
The 63-year-old presenter has said there are currently no plans for the famous motoring trio to work together again following the end of their professional partnership on The Grand Tour in 2024.
The three presenters recently made a one-off appearance to introduce The Grand Tour's new presenting line-up, but Mr May has played down the prospect of another project together.
Speaking to LBC, Mr May said it was "slightly difficult" to "envisage" a reunion with Mr Clarkson and Mr Hammond because they were all "knocking on a bit".
However, he stopped short of ruling out the possibility entirely.
Mr May said: "You should never say never, should you, because then somebody will dig it up and hold it against you, but there is nothing planned."
Since the trio went their separate ways, Mr Clarkson has continued presenting Clarkson's Farm, while Mr Hammond, who was educated in Ripon and Harrogate in North Yorkshire, has presented a series on Discovery.
Mr May has meanwhile concentrated on several ventures of his own, including his pub, gin business and YouTube channel.
Mr May told James O'Brien on LBC: “The margins are tiny, and one bit of old 18th-century thatch falling off, or in our case, having to resurface the gravelly car park, can be enough to push you over the edge."
