A school has been praised in a glowing Ofsted report.
Healey Junior, Infant and Nursery School in Batley received the positive feedback following an inspection in September 2026.
Inspectors highlighted strong foundations in reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as high standards of behaviour and a supportive school environment.
Ofsted said: "Pupils develop secure foundations in reading, writing and mathematics.
"The school's focus on these subjects, including early reading, helps pupils gain the essential knowledge and skills they need for future learning."
The report also described behaviour as a "strength of the school," noting that pupils are polite, respectful, and ready to learn.
Luisa Lang, headteacher at Healey, said: "I am immensely proud of our school and the recognition we have received in our latest Ofsted report.
"Above all, I want to thank our wonderful learners, who are at the heart of everything we do – alongside our dedicated staff, Batley Multi Academy Trust, and our supportive parents and carers.
"This achievement reflects the care, commitment and ambition of our whole school community."
The inspector found that pupils take pride in belonging to the school and enjoy learning.
They also recognised that pupils benefit from a wide range of experiences beyond the classroom, including roles as prefects, attendance ambassadors, and members of the eco council.
Ms Lang said: "Batley is a great place to be, and we are incredibly proud to be at the heart of this wonderful community, providing opportunities for every learner to feel valued, thrive and achieve their very best.
"I am particularly proud of the section of the report that identifies 'What it's like to be a pupil at this school', which reflects the Inspector’s findings after speaking directly with our learners."
The report also praised the school’s strong community links and the value pupils place on contributing to their area and working with people of all ages.
