A TOWN centre trail has earned national recognition.
Skipton’s Woolly Sheep Trail, funded by the town’s Business Improvement District (BID), has been named a finalist in the Community Project category at the National BID Awards 2027.
The awards celebrate excellence, innovation, and best practice across the BID sector, highlighting efforts to support businesses, strengthen communities, and enhance destinations.
Sarah Howsen, BID manager at Skipton BID, said: "We are super proud to have been named as finalists in these prestigious awards for the first time.

"It’s an amazing achievement for us and everyone that worked so hard to support the delivery of the Woolly Sheep Trail this year.
"It was a top achievement, so we’re absolutely delighted to receive this recognition for it."
The Woolly Sheep Trail launched over the summer with funding from the BID and more than 800 hours of volunteer support from Spinning Jenny in Skipton.
Designed to attract visitors into the town centre, the trail guided people through various parts of Skipton, with the aim of increasing footfall and spend in the area.
More than 700 people completed the trail, which drew visitors from across the UK as well as from Ireland and the Netherlands.
Ms Howsen said: "The feedback we received on the trail was highly positive and we’re thrilled that another BID project was a success in supporting our businesses.
"We can’t wait to attend the national finals next year.
"Wish us luck."
The Skipton BID team will attend the National BID Awards finals in London in February 2027.
A spokesperson for the National BID Awards said: "Being named a finalist is a fantastic achievement and a recognition of hard work, dedication and contribution to the BID community."
