A BOOKSHOP is inviting readers to enjoy a season of stories, from eerie horrors to heartwarming tales.

Wave of Nostalgia in Haworth has announced a packed programme of autumn events, featuring authors, book signings and literary discussions with a seasonal twist.

Diane Park, owner of Wave of Nostalgia, said: "I'm really proud of our lineup of author events this Autumn.

"The subjects covered are all perfect for this season – stories to be told in front of a roaring fire, alternatively chilling, thrilling and warming readers.

"I'm delighted that we've convinced such successful authors as CJ Cooke, David Barnett and AJ West to join the lovely readers in Haworth and it will be a pleasure to welcome such a well-known Yorkshire personality as Amanda Owen to the village, too.

"If the weather's looking a bit fraught or you're a distance from the village, all the evening events can be joined on Zoom, as well."

The programme begins on Wednesday, October 28, at 3pm with a free event featuring Amanda Owen, the Yorkshire Shepherdess, who will share stories and sign copies of her latest children’s book, Cozy Bedtime Stories from the Farm.

On Thursday, October 29, from 7pm, a Halloween Horror night will feature authors David Barnett and Michael Stewart.

Mr Barnett will launch his new folk horror novel Twisted Pike, while Mr Stewart will introduce his limited-edition novella Ballad of Nancy Fullgood.

From 6pm, Sharon Dargue of Spooks will offer tarot readings in the bookshop's cellar.

On Saturday, October 31, at 2pm, Carnegie-nominated children’s author Liz Flanagan will tell stories from her new book for ages eight and up, The Moonlight Dragon.

Events continue into November, including an appearance by CJ Cooke on November 11, who will discuss her new novel The House of Cursed Daughters, and a visit from best-selling author AJ West on November 18.

Tickets are £5. Attendees in person will receive a free drink, and all attendees will receive 10 per cent off all books in the shop or online.

Events take place at Wave of Nostalgia, 74 Main Street, Haworth BD22 8DP, with evening sessions also available via Zoom.
