Drivers face major disruption on the A19 near Stockton this weekend as workers remove a footbridge at the A1027 Norton Interchange for refurbishment.
National Highways will close parts of the A19 and nearby roads while the bridge is lifted out and taken away for refurbishment before its January 2027 return.
The project aims to extend the life of the footbridge over the busy dual carriageway near Norton.
A series of overnight closures are already in place and will continue from October 19 to 23 between 8pm and 6am.
The biggest disruption will come during closures from October 17 to 19.
From 8pm on Saturday until 5am on Sunday, the A19 will be closed in both directions between the A139 and the A689.
The A1027 westbound will also be closed from Wolviston Road to the A19 Norton Interchange between 5am and 8pm on Sunday.
Between 6am and 8pm on Sunday, A19 traffic in both directions will leave the main carriageway via the slip roads, pass through Norton Interchange and rejoin the A19.
The A19 will then close completely between the A139 and A689 from 8pm on Sunday until 6am on Monday.
