A GROWING career in costume design has led to the big screen.
Alison Lyons has helped bring Jane Austen’s world to life in the latest film adaptation of Sense and Sensibility.
Ms Lyons, who studied costume construction during the school’s former days as Cleveland College of Art and Design, secured the role by reaching out to the film’s designer, Grace Snell.
She said: "I had found out the film was starting production.
"I reached out to Grace Snell, the film’s designer, and she offered me a place within her team.
"I feel very lucky to have worked with such a fantastic designer."
Ms Lyons took on two roles during production, serving as Costume Coordinator during pre-production and Principal Truck Supervisor during filming.
Her responsibilities included managing and maintaining costumes for the main cast, planning wardrobe needs, and dressing actors on set.
She said: "Shortly before filming started, I moved into the role of the Principal Truck Supervisor, which was location-based.
"Here I supervised the team that worked with the main cast costumes.
"I lined up the costumes needed for the days and weeks ahead, dressed main cast and maintained their costumes.
"I also studied the schedule and pre-planned for potential problems."
During the shoot, Ms Lyons worked closely with actors Daisy Edgar-Jones and George MacKay, and was involved in dressing them each day on set.
