A 14-year-old girl has appeared before York Magistrates' Court after emergency services had to deal with two incidents in the city.

The girl, from York, is alleged to have caused a public nuisance at York Hospital multi-storey car park on Tuesday, October 13.

She is also charged with causing a public nuisance on Ouse Bridge on October 5 and of carrying a razor blade on the same occasion.

Throughout the hearing, she hid her head and held tight to a dock officer.

Both her parents and a social worker accompanied her.

At the request of her solicitor James Dixon, magistrates adjourned her case until January 15 when she will appear before Harrogate Youth Court, which deals with cases involving youths from York.

The prosecution did not oppose the length of the adjournment.

Magistrates released her on bail until then on condition that she co-operates with the youth justice team.

The girl was charged after an incident that led to the emergency services attending Ouse Bridge and closing it for a time on October 5; and emergency services attending an incident at York Hospital car park on Tuesday.
