A spokesperson said: "Northern Gas Networks are having to close Welham Road again for two days on the 23rd/24th Oct (Fri/Sat) to allow the completion of the essential gas mains replacement programme.

"It will be a full road closure outside number 42 Welham Road from 9am on Friday, October 23, until Saturday night, at which point, it will be changed back to multiway traffic lights again.

"Residents on Park Road will still be able to turn left at the junction of Welham Road, when leaving Park Road towards Malton but they will be unable to turn right.

"For anyone south of the Park Road junction, they will need to follow the diversion route again during these times. The diversion route will be the same for cars and HGV's, around Langton. I urge all road users to use the signed diversion route for everyone's safety. Thank you for your patience."

Mayor of Norton Cllr Di Keal, said: " Please be patient and considerate during this period - the work being carried out benefits us all."
