A series of temporary road closures is set to impact residents across North Yorkshire.
These include routes in Farndale East, Slingsby, Pickering, and Swinton, and are due to take place as part of winter protection measures and essential utility works.
The Parish of Farndale East will see a number of unsurfaced unclassified roads (UURs) closed to motor-powered vehicles for 18 months from October 19, 2026, until April 18, 2028.
These closures are intended to prevent damage to the roads during the wetter winter months.
The specific roads affected are U8006/9/60, U8006/9/50, U8006/9/40, and U8006/9/20.
The closure will be clearly indicated by traffic signs, and alternative routes will be marked on site, where appropriate.
Slingsby's Sycamore Close will also be closed to vehicles from November 2, 2026, until November 10, 2026.
The closure is to allow for fuse upgrade works.
The maximum duration for this order is until November 13, 2026.
Again, traffic signs will be in place to indicate the closure period, and alternative routes will be provided.

In Pickering, Meadow Road will be out of bounds for vehicles from November 2, 2026, until November 13, 2026, due to the same fuse upgrade works.
Traffic signs will indicate the closure period, and a local alternative route will be signed on site.
Lastly, East Street in Swinton will be closed for a week between November 2, 2026, and December 31, 2026, due to works.
