A York company has launched a new AI-powered employee safety tool designed to improve workplace protection and streamline emergency response.

Vismo, a global specialist in tracking and security solutions, has developed Vismo AI to help organisations protect at-risk employees anywhere in the world.

The tool was demonstrated at GSX 2026 in Atlanta.

Tom Cowling, CEO of Vismo, said: "Vismo AI answers are grounded in users' organisations' own data, live intelligence risk feeds and app users themselves.

"For added security, it doesn’t take answers from the open web."

The system integrates with the Vismo Locate and Protect app, allowing security teams to quickly gather information and take action using natural language commands such as "draw me a geo-fence" or "show me where my people are."

A live map interface displays real-time employee GNSS location updates, global threat/incident feeds, and active weather alerts to help teams identify risks and respond rapidly.

Mr Cowling said: "Asking questions of Vismo AI and giving it instructions saves keying-in time and leads to rapid end-to-end information and data processing and management."

The AI can deliver advice during incidents, provide evacuation updates, and carry out actions like geo-fencing and mass notifications through a single message thread.

Mr Cowling said: "That’s a real step up in employee safety, thanks to security operations receiving incident alerts with Vismo AI giving named providers, severity levels and timestamps, and indications of accuracy."

All interactions with the AI are saved and named for future reference, making it easy to revisit incident details days later.

Managers can request the last known address or location of an employee, the time of the update, its accuracy level, and the battery status of the employee’s device.

They can also ask the AI to "take me there" or "show me where my people are," with the system displaying the relevant locations on a map.

Vismo AI can also provide unprompted updates, such as alerts about a nearby Vismo advisory to app users or any employee on 5% battery.

The system allows managers to ask about events in specific regions and receive grouped incident data by risk level, complete with location, expected duration, and impact on employee safety and travel.

Mr Cowling said: "Managers can ask what is happening in a country or region and in reply get active incidents grouped by risk level, with each item’s location, expected duration and what it means for employee safety and travel arrangements."

He added that this functionality "That gives a detailed overview and saves a lot of time."

Vismo has confirmed that location and personnel data is not used to train the underlying AI model, and the system is covered by the same ISO 27001-certified information security standards as the rest of the Vismo platform.
