Parents across Yorkshire are being reminded to apply for secondary school places.
City of York Council has issued the reminder for children currently in Year 6 who will start secondary school next September.
Councillor Bob Webb, executive member for children, young people and education, said: "Moving to secondary school is an exciting time for young people and their families.
"I’d encourage parents and carers to apply online as soon as possible."
Applications can be made for up to five schools, but the council recommends that one of the choices should be the child’s catchment school.
Applications can be submitted online at www.york.gov.uk/admissions.
