A new road safety scheme is helping pupils stay visible and confident on their journeys to and from school.
The Bright Journeys campaign, launched by housebuilder David Wilson Homes, is providing hi-vis equipment to pupils in North Yorkshire and across the country to support safe and active travel.
Up to 2,000 pupils nationwide will receive a selection of hi-vis items such as vests, reflective bag tags or drawstring kit bags to help them stay visible during darker mornings and evenings.
Paul Hogan, sales director at David Wilson Homes Yorkshire East, said: "At David Wilson Homes, we are committed to creating communities where families can thrive.
"Through Bright Journeys, we are helping local children stay safe and visible while encouraging active travel and raising awareness of road safety.
"We hope the equipment provides pupils and parents with extra confidence during the school run, particularly during the darker autumn and winter months."
Schools will also be invited to take part in a road safety poster competition as part of the campaign.
Winning designs could be displayed at a nearby David Wilson Homes development.
The scheme supports national awareness events including Walk to School Month in October and Road Safety Week, which runs from November 15 to 21.
