This Christmas, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway offers families a magical journey aboard a real heritage railway, complete with a personal visit from Santa and a cast of characters children won’t forget.
Onboard, Santa’s cheeky elves – Elton Elf, Chef Custard and Joey Marshmallow – fill the journey with songs, games and festive fun. Santa himself then arrives for a personal visit, and every child receives a 20cm gingerbread man plush toy and a festive book to take home.
This year’s Santa Express is themed around The Gingerbread Man, starring Gingersnap, a gingerbread puppet who arrives on a baking tray after a kitchen mishap. Children help the elves piece him back together in a playful, interactive twist. NYMR has once again partnered with Wise Owl Theatre Company to bring the story to life.
Back on the platform, the festivities continue: try the Naughty or Nice Scanner, play festive fete games, join a gingerbread-themed activity, and write and post a letter to Santa. Sing along on Platform 2, browse the Christmas Emporium for gifts, then round off the day in the tea room and gift shop.
