Members of a Bradford gang that dealt drugs worth millions have been locked up for more than 100 years.

11 men and one woman have been jailed for drug and money laundering offences including ringleader Idris Khan, 35, who is beginning a 16-year sentence.

The activities of the Bradford-based organised crime gang (OCG), which was responsible for the industrial-scale supply of Class A drugs and associated money laundering within Yorkshire, the Humber, and beyond, was uncovered via an investigation by West Yorkshire’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit.

Officers found that the gang supplied more than 135kg of Class A drugs with 55kg of cocaine and heroin recovered.

Ringleader had £4.3 million worth of drugs

Idris Khan, from Ashgrove, off Morley Street, in Bradford's west end, was identified as the ringleader who arranged the movement of drugs with trusted Bradford-based couriers Akif Hashmi, 23, and Ibrahim Sajad, 27, to supply the drugs.

Hashmi was arrested in August 2025 in possession of 20kg of cocaine, 23kg of heroin, and three bags of crack cocaine totalling a street value of £4.3 million.

His wife Kiran Mahmood, 24, was also present and subsequently arrested.

Who moved the drugs?

Ibras Khan, 38, was found to be a customer of the OCG.

He and his right-hand man Ataf Ali, 35, arranged and facilitated the movement of 31 kilos of heroin and cocaine over a two-month period.

In April 2025, Ibras Khan was arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs and officers seized two mobile phones from him.

Evidence from the devices proved he was dealing directly with the gang and arranging the movement of large-scale amounts of drugs.

Data from the phones also proved that between August 2024 and April 2025, Ibras Khan oversaw the supply of more than 52 kilos of drugs and collected £364,992.

The gang appeared at Bradford Crown Court on Monday.

How long did they get?

Members of the OCG and their associates were sentenced as follows:

Moshin Bangash, 27, of Fairburn Gardens, Eccleshill, Bradford, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine and conspiracy to supply heroin.

Lukman Patel, 35, of Homeway Road, Leicester, was found guilty following a trial of conspiracy to supply cocaine and conspiracy to supply heroin.

They are both due to be sentenced at Bradford Crown Court on October 28.

'Incredibly complex investigation'

Detective Inspector, Kevin Daly of the Force Precision team said: “This was an incredibly complex investigation, which involved the assistance of many officers to tackle a sophisticated conspiracy to supply Class A drugs on an industrial scale.

“The supply of illegal drugs fuels crime and serious violence in our communities and has devastating impacts.

"By investigating all levels of the organised crime group, we struck those who profit greatly from criminality, and I hope these sentences send a clear message and reassure our communities.”
