Swing City Big Band to bring the Swing Era back to Glusburn stage

The Glusburn Institute Community and Arts Centre is set to host a return visit from the Swing City Big Band.

THE Glusburn Institute Community and Arts Centre is set to host a return visit from the Swing City Big Band.

On Saturday, October 24, the band will bring the Swing Era to the Glusburn stage, playing classics from composers such as George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, and Glenn Miller.

The performance will be live from a full big band, celebrating the legendary composers and songwriters who shaped the soundtrack of the 20th century.

The audience is encouraged to dress in sequins, bow ties, and 1930s and 40s glamour attire to match the theme.

Debby Richardson, centre manager at Glusburn Institute, said: "The Swing City Big Band has been a real hit with our audiences, and this is a night full of glamour and great music.

"Whether you're a lifelong Big Band fan or just fancy a lovely evening out close to home, we'd love to see you there."

The event, Swing Into the Golden Age, takes place at Glusburn Institute Community and Arts Centre.

Doors open at 7pm, with the performance starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £15, with an additional £1 online booking fee, available at www.gicac.org.uk/whats-on or by calling 01535 630223.
