A COMMUNITY support scheme is celebrating 30 years of helping older people stay connected.
MHA Communities Horsforth, based in Horsforth, marked three decades of service with a special celebration at Horsforth Conservative Club on Town Street.
The event, attended by 70 members, featured live entertainment, a buffet, and a memory tree where attendees could share stories and reflections about their time with the scheme.
Dean Steadman, communities manager, said: "It's an absolute honour to be part of the journey that this scheme has been on.
"Being a part of the community for 30 years is a huge achievement."
The scheme helps older people build friendships, maintain independence, and reduce social isolation through group activities and support.
Mr Steadman said: "We had 70 members turn up, which was the maximum capacity, which meant we had a number of people who unfortunately were unable to come.
"The atmosphere throughout the day was great and it was amazing to see so many members.
"We received plenty of wonderful feedback, and hosting an event at the venue was a first, but it's definitely somewhere we will host more events."
He admitted the scheme has made a "very positive impact" over the years.
Mr Steadman said: "Long may it continue.
"I want to thank everyone who came and joined in with the celebrations and those who we have supported along the way in the last 30 years for making the scheme the success it is today."
He also praised the close bonds formed through the scheme.
Mr Steadman said: "Members and staff have made friends for life through the range of services we provide.
"Combatting isolation and loneliness is something that we are always keen to break and enable those around us to have close connections they can rely on."
