Council staff will also be wearing red and taking part in a fundraising event organised by the authority's Race Equality Network.
Show Racism the Red Card is celebrating 30 years of using the power and profile of football to tackle racism and discrimination through education.
Preston Park Museum is supporting the campaign during Black History Month by hosting Show Racism the Red Card’s First Black XI exhibition.
The exhibition celebrates the first 11 Black footballers to represent Middlesbrough FC and runs until Sunday, November 1.
Councillor Norma Stephenson said: "We're always incredibly proud to give our full support to Show Racism the Red Card's Wear Red Day and the message from the council across our Borough and beyond is that there is absolutely no room for racism, hatred and inequality.
"Stockton-on-Tees embraces diversity as our strength, and we're committed to ensure that there's simply no place for any form of discrimination in our society.
"Everyone in the borough can get involved by wearing red and if you are able to, I would encourage you to donate to Show Racism the Red Card because together, we can all help stamp out racism and discrimination across the country."
