A world-renowned Mongolian throat singer has showcased his unique vocals at one of the North East's most spectacular beauty spots.
The passionate performance travelled over 4,000 miles from Mongolia to perform at the High Force waterfall on the River Tees, near Barnard Castle.
A video posted to social media in the early hours of October 14 has attracted praise from locals after it showcased Batzorig Vaanchig's vocals behind shots of the 70ft County Durham waterfall.
During the visit, Batzorig belted out 'Praise of the Tes River' beside the waterfall.
It is a song which details the river's flowing waters of Northwestern Mongolia and its cultural significance to locals.
Released by Nine Treasures Band in 2020, the song blends traditional Mongolian music with modern techniques and presents rivers as symbols of life and energy.
Batzorig Vaanchig is an internationally known throat singer, morin khuur player and Mongolian cultural ambassador.
The 49-year-old, who has three children, founded the Khusugtun Ethnic Band and has promoted traditional Mongolian music worldwide.
Vaanchig shot to global attention in 2014 when a video of him performing 'Chinggis Khaanii Magtaal' on a mountain went viral and gained more than 42 million views.
Batzorig is currently touring the UK with Dutch musician Rowan Lee Hartsuiker, who also performs Mongolian throat singing.
The County Durham stop occurred between the musician's Leeds and Edinburgh dates, and brought the two throat singers to one of the best-known landmarks along the River Tees.
