A Middlesbrough man who admitted admitted assaulting a woman and bombarding her with unwanted calls and messages has had his sentencing delayed.
Daniel Lloyd, 29, of Hollow Field, Middlesbrough, was due to be sentenced at Teesside Crown Court on Tuesday (October 13).
He admitted assaulting a woman and bombarding her with unwanted calls and messages.
Lloyd also admitted damaging doors, a television and fencing at a Middlesbrough address on June 9.
Recorder Taryn Turner criticised the delay in receiving details of the basis of plea and ordered the investigating officer to attend the next hearing.
"This is an unsatisfactory state of affairs," she said.
"The court, the prosecution and the defence barrister have been waiting on the police to indicate whether your basis of plea is satisfactory and they have heard nothing.

"I am adjourning sentence because I can see that it is important to get to the bottom of it.
"I expect that by then this issue is resolved."
Sentencing was relisted for October 20, and Lloyd was remanded in custody until the next hearing.
