Yorkshire venues turn business events into support for farming and education

Every Event Makes A Difference according to the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate

Every Event Makes A Difference

A look at how a Yorkshire venue is helping businesses turn meetings, conferences and exhibitions into a force for good.

Businesses are increasingly looking to ensure all of their operations, including their events, contribute to their broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) objectives.

The Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate is home to two unique event venues where that principle is built into everything they do.

Pavilions of Harrogate and the Great Yorkshire Events Centre offer organisers more than just brilliant event spaces, because every event they host directly supports the work of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, with all profits reinvested into the charity's educational and agricultural programmes.

The Society champions the people, skills and knowledge needed to ensure the future of farming across the region.

It also helps children and young people better understand where food comes from and how the countryside is managed.

Two Venues, One Purpose

While united by their charitable purpose, the two venues offer different solutions for event organisers.

Pavilions of Harrogate has 14 purpose-built event spaces that can host everything from meetings and conferences to exhibitions, gala dinners and team building events.

Its largest rooms can comfortably accommodate up to 450 delegates and its combination of pillar-free space, extensive on-site parking and experienced team make it a popular choice for both national and regional brands.

Recent clients include businesses such as Arla Foods, Howdens and Boden, as well as business networking groups such as Yorkshire Ladies Link and the Harrogate Business Club.

Space to Go Bigger

For larger-scale events, the Great Yorkshire Events Centre offers a blank canvas capable of accommodating large exhibitions, conferences and gala dinners up to 2,500 delegates and public events for thousands of visitors.

Beyond the venue itself, organisers can also access 250 acres of showground space, 6km of internal roadways, woodland areas and parkland, creating opportunities for everything from product launches and experiential events to major consumer shows.

The venue has hosted large-scale events such as the Everything Electric vehicle show, the Le Creuset Factory Sale, Ibiza Symphonic concert, Morrisons' Big Night Out gala dinner and SharkNinja conference.

Events With Wider Impact

For many organisers, choosing a venue is no longer solely about capacity, location or facilities.

It's about finding a venue that reflects their organisation's values.

By hosting an event at Pavilions of Harrogate or the Great Yorkshire Events Centre, businesses know their investment extends beyond the event itself.

Every conference, exhibition, meeting or dinner helps support the Yorkshire Agricultural Society's charitable work, creating a lasting benefit for farming, education and rural communities across Yorkshire.

In an environment where organisations are increasingly expected to demonstrate positive social impact, it's a simple way for events to contribute to something bigger.
