Three senior promotions have been announced at a leading Yorkshire law firm as it continues to strengthen its Commercial and Litigation departments.
Ware & Kay Solicitors, which has offices in York, Wetherby, and Malton, has promoted Gemma Foster to head of the commercial department, Sarah Parker to deputy head of the commercial department, and Emma Farrell to deputy head of the litigation department.
The promotions are part of the firm’s continued investment in its teams and services and reflect each individual’s experience and contribution.
David Hyams, managing director at Ware & Kay Solicitors, said: "Gemma, Sarah, and Emma each bring considerable experience, sound judgement and a real commitment to the firm, and I am delighted to recognise their contributions with these promotions.
"I look forward to seeing them embrace their new roles and continue to develop their teams, strengthen the firm’s expertise, and deliver an excellent service to our clients."
Ms Foster, who joined the firm in 2021, has established herself as a key member of the commercial property team.
In her new role, she will lead the commercial property, agriculture, and corporate commercial teams across all three offices.
Her promotion marks the next phase of growth for the commercial department.
Ms Parker, who is also head of agriculture, has been promoted to deputy head of the commercial department.
Based in the Malton office, she has extensive experience advising farmers, landowners, and rural businesses.
Her in-depth knowledge of the legal and practical issues facing clients in the agricultural sector has further strengthened the firm’s expertise in this area.
In her expanded role, she will work closely with Ms Foster to support the leadership of the commercial department and its teams across all three offices.
Ms Farrell has been promoted to deputy head of the litigation department.
With more than 20 years of experience in commercial and civil disputes, she brings a wealth of knowledge to the role.
In her new position, she will support Johanne Spittle, director and head of litigation, in the day-to-day leadership of the firm’s family, employment, and litigation teams.
