A new art exhibition in York is inviting visitors to reflect through a blend of painting, film, and interactive experiences.
At the Bend in the River, by contemporary artist Nancy Cadogan, opens this autumn at Beningbrough Hall, Gallery and Gardens.
The exhibition spans four rooms in the Reddihough Galleries and features paintings, drawings, and immersive spaces inspired by the estate’s landscape and history.
Ms Cadogan said: "Beningbrough has a beautiful light and a wonderful spirit.
"Spending time here, I found myself returning again and again to the bend in the river, which feels both protective and expansive.
"It's a place that encourages reflection, and many of the works in the exhibition explore that sense of pause, where memory, landscape and imagination meet."
Visitors can also view a specially commissioned film exploring Ms Cadogan’s creative practice and the inspiration she found at Beningbrough.
The exhibition is part of the National Trust property’s ongoing contemporary art programme.
Laura Turner, creative producer for the National Trust, said: "This exhibition reflects what makes Beningbrough such a unique place to visit.
"We hope people leave feeling uplifted, curious and perhaps with a new perspective on the places that matter to them."
