A popular Sunday lunch spot in Scarborough has applied for permission to offer al fresco dining.

Chameleon, in Bar Street in the coastal town, has applied for an updated licence allowing it to keep serving customers on the pavement outside the premises.

The well-rated restaurant would place six tables and 24 chairs on the pavement if William Miller’s proposal is approved.

On the customer feedback website TripAdvisor, Chameleon has a rating of 4.3 out of five and is ranked as the 88th best restaurant in the town out of about 300.
