'Council needs to up its game on city streets'

Praise indeed to D.A. Brown’s letter to The Press, printed in October 10 edition, but unfortunately it only begins to hit the nail on the head.

It doesn’t go far enough in order to give a true representation of the disgusting condition of the city centre streets in general with an overabundance of dirty, filthy, stained footpaths and pedestrianised areas, soiled rubbish-filled (empty) shop fronts and a strong chance of being harassed by drunks dossing down and begging on the streets, in doorways and public seating areas.

City of York Council really need to up their game if they ever want to be taken seriously and put some real effort and action into cleaning up this (what ought to be, could be, should be) amazing city, instead of dreaming up unpopular and expensive plans that tumble out of control in terms of timescale and public money.

More people who live in York need to stand and be counted and complain about the lack of care and attention this council are currently prepared to give to the streets of York.

Trump is no friend of UK

The current American President, Donald Trump, is not a genuine friend of the UK, nor of the Free World.

This unreliable man started the totally unnecessary war against Iran, and now (to try and save his own rotten skin), has done a deal with one of the very worst of Britain’s enemies, Russian President V. Putin, to buy a vast amount of Russian diesel.

The money for this diesel will be used to continue the unjustified war against Ukraine and all her allies.

This coming November the American people MUST defeat their President!

If it ain’t broke...

I WROTE recently about the problems regarding the proposed new recycling bins probably being too small to take a month’s plastic, glass and tins for many households.

It has been drawn to my attention by a neighbour that she and many others face the opposite situation - boxes were quite adequate for her household and where will she find the space to put two extra bins?

The recycling boxes served most of us well.

Wake up council, if a system ain’t broke for so many, please don’t fix it.

PM’s cunning plan

Our PM, aptly named Baldrick Burnham, has come up with another cunning plan.

This time he is trying to tell Britain it was not a genuine vote for us to leave the EU but was done by Russian interference, therefore the vote is not valid and we should automatically have the vote rejected and be accepted back into the EU under the most preposterous terms any Government would contemplate.

He is an embarrassment to Britain to let him anywhere near the world stage and makes things up as he goes along, no idea of politics or how to run a country whatsoever.

He couldn’t run a children’s raffle as now the truth about his Manchester Mayorship is coming to the fore with the allegations about Man City F.C. making the headlines.

He will soon be gone.
