Police announced on Monday that they discovered “alleged devices for installing hidden cameras” in the women’s restrooms on the campus of the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR).

No cameras were found, however, adhesive Velcro strips were found, the same type that had been used several months ago to attach cameras in women’s restrooms on the campus. It is currently unclear whether the Velcro strips were newly installed or are the old ones. The police are investigating.

Following the incident in June, the university filed a complaint. Police are investigating on suspicion of an invasion of privacy. The restrooms were publicly accessible.

According to police, the cameras were attached with Velcro under sanitary bag dispensers. In connection with this, police searched the apartment of a 66-year-old suspect at the beginning of October.
