A MOTORCYCLIST died on Monday following a collision -despite efforts by other motorists to save his life.

The horror unfolded on the A629 Keighley Road at Low Bradley, between Keighley and Skipton.

The 65-year-old man was riding a red Honda motorcycle when it was in collision with a green Land Rover Defender at around 12.30pm.

Both vehicles were heading south from Skipton towards Keighley at the time.

The road remained closed until 8.40pm while police enquiries were carried out at the scene and for the safe recovery of both vehicles.

The driver of the Land Rover Defender, a 43-year-old woman, was arrested in connection with the investigation and has been released while enquiries continue.

The spokesperson added: "To support the investigation, we are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward. This includes of the collision itself as well as either vehicle prior to the incident."
