A SIMON and Garfunkel tribute show is coming to Grassington.
The Sounds of Simon will perform at The Devonshire Institute on Sunday, November 8, as they celebrate their 20th year of touring.
The show, led by Ben Bowden and Adam Ellis, promises a nostalgic evening of classic hits, focusing on the harmonies of the legendary duo and exploring their solo careers.
Mr Bowden, who performs as Paul Simon, said: "I have always loved the music of Paul Simon.
"Simon and Garfunkel’s Greatest Hits was one of the few cassettes my family would agree on in the car.
"Paul is just the absolute business when it comes to song writing.
"Not a lyric out of place.
"It is a privilege to be able to play these songs each night."
The Sounds of Simon covers three decades of music, starting with The Sound of Silence from 1965 and continuing through Paul Simon’s solo work, including songs from Graceland and beyond.
The two-hour show is accompanied by archive footage of Simon and Garfunkel.
Mr Ellis, who plays Art Garfunkel, said: "It’s great to take a someone as brilliant as Paul Simon and then show how a songwriter practises and develops his craft."
This will be the band’s debut performance in Grassington.
Mr Bowden said: "It’s great to come new places and make see old friends."
He was recently featured on BBC’s The One Show, performing as Paul Simon and talking about Paul’s visit to England in 1965. It was on this trip that Paul reputedly wrote his hit, Homeward Bound.
