A HOSPICE charity has opened a new flagship shop in a busy city centre shopping hub.
St Gemma’s Hospice launched its latest store at the Merrion Centre in Leeds, offering an expanded selection of second-hand fashion, homeware, children's toys, and more.
The shop occupies a larger, more prominent location at the centre’s main entrance and builds on eight years of success at the site.
Jane Kent, head of retail at St Gemma’s Hospice, said: "We’re delighted to have opened our new-look Merrion Centre store and have been so pleased with the warm welcome from customers.
"Our original shop built a fantastic following, and it’s wonderful to see that enthusiasm continue in our larger space."
Charles Newman, asset management director at Town Centre Securities PLC, said: "We’ve been overwhelmed by the response to St Gemma’s new-look store.
"It was a pleasure to welcome the Lord Mayor of Leeds to the opening and celebrate this exciting next chapter for a charity that has been a much-loved part of the Merrion Centre since 2018."
The Merrion Centre shop remains St Gemma’s only city centre location in Leeds and is especially popular with students seeking affordable and sustainable shopping options.
