DIWALI celebrations, lantern parade and Halloween tours are lighting up the half-term holiday.

Bradford District Museums and Galleries are offering a packed programme of events for families across Cliffe Castle Museum, Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, Bolling Hall Museum and Bradford Industrial Museum.

Activities begin on October 25 at Cliffe Castle Museum in Keighley with Slow Sunday, featuring Tai Chi, crafts, slow art and wellbeing walks.

A phone photography walk and seasonal tea ceremonies are also available to book.

From 2pm to 3pm, Bradford-based trio May Contain Notes will perform a free concert as part of the Music at the Museum programme.

The group blends vocal harmonies with brass, banjo, guitar and percussion.

Diwali celebrations take place on October 27 at Cliffe Castle from 11am to 3pm.

Families can drop in to enjoy animal yoga, lantern making and colourful rangoli-inspired crafts.

On October 28, Bolling Hall hosts its ticketed Boll-O-Ween event for children aged seven to 12.

The historic hall opens after dark for eerie tours, spell-making activities and Halloween surprises.

Six tours are available, starting every half hour from 5.30pm to 8pm.

Tickets cost £5 for children and £8 for adults.

Nature-themed fun arrives on October 29 at Cartwright Hall and Lister Park with Action for Nature Day.

Running from 11am to 4pm, the event includes crafts, wildlife activities, walks, talks and workshops.

Visitors can plant seeds, create wildlife homes and learn how to support nature in their communities.

On October 30, Lister Park lights up for the Lantern Parade, themed Celebration of Life.

Families can book a workshop at Cartwright Hall to make their own lanterns for £6 each.

Evening entertainment starts at 4.30pm, with the parade beginning at 5.30pm and ending with a theatrical finale at the Bandstand around 6.30pm.

Halloween day itself brings events at both Bolling Hall and Bradford Industrial Museum.

At Bolling Hall, the free Halloween Hyacinths event runs from 11am to 3pm, offering bulb planting, spooky storytelling, crafts, face painting and costumed characters.

Bradford Industrial Museum hosts Spooky BIM-oween, also from 11am to 3pm.

Families can enjoy a Halloween trail, skeleton rat hunt, crafts, face painting, a spooky disco and “ghosts in the machines.”

Councillor Ian Walker, Bradford Council’s executive member for neighbourhoods and communities, said: "There's a fantastic variety of things happening across our museums and galleries this half-term, with something for families of all ages to enjoy."
