A North East McDonald's has closed for a major refurb set to give the restaurant a “fresh new look”.
The McDonald's restaurant at Portrack Retail Park in Stockton closed at 8pm on Sunday, October 11, with customers told it is expected to reopen on Friday, December 4.
The fast-food giant announced the temporary closure on social media, telling customers that "big changes" were coming to the Stockton restaurant.
It said: "Our Portrack Lane, Stockton restaurant will be closing at 8pm on October 11 as we get ready for a refurbishment and a fresh new look.
"We'll be back and better than ever from December 4."
McDonald's has told customers they can instead visit its restaurant at Newton Park Services on Durham Road in Stockton while the Portrack branch remains closed.
Plans submitted to Stockton Council earlier this year reveal a number of changes proposed as part of the refurbishment.
They include widening the drive-thru lane to accommodate side-by-side ordering, installing a new folded roof and access door, and redecorating the restaurant's windows, doors and aluminium cladding.

Changes to the outside seating area, including new furniture, also form part of the plans, alongside changes to ordering displays and signage.
The planning application, for the McDonald's at Cheltenham Road, Portrack Interchange Business Park, was submitted in May this year.
Announcing the closure, McDonald's added: "In the meantime, we appreciate your patience and support and can't wait to welcome you back and show you what we've been working on."
