Yarm High Street is set to close for five hours tonight as the fair arrives in town.
Thousands of thrill seekers are expected to descend on Yarm in just two days as the three-day event returns on Thursday (October 15).
The fair, which dates as far back as 1207, will see the return of a string of white knuckle rides including the waltzers, crazy frog, and the Tagada (spinning bowl).
And tonight (October 13), the High Street will be closed between Bridge Street and Bentley Wynd as the fair and its rides arrive on the cobbles.
The road will shut from 6pm to allow for the convoy of wagons to arrive and get into position.
The road will fully reopen from 11pm and will remain open as normal on Wednesday (October 14), although on-street parking spaces will be suspended.
The fair kicks off at 6pm on Thursday night, with the road being closed from 5.45pm until 10.45pm. It will have similar closure times on Friday evening.

The final day of the fair will see the road closed from 11.30am until 11.59pm.
The Saturday typically hosts the Riding of the Fair, a centuries-old tradition that sees horses trot their way up and down the High Street in a nod to the event’s livestock trading history.
All road closures and traffic will be looked after by Beacon Traffic Management.
Despite the closures, emergency vehicles, pedestrians, and relevant permit holders will have access.

Ahead of the event, organiser The Showmen's Guild has confirmed exactly what fair fans can expect on the cobbles this year.
The Miami, which rotates a row of seats around a wall, dodgems, and the Super Star, which lifts passengers into the air and spins on a rotating arm, are all confirmed for this year.
For the little ones, fun houses, a helter-skelter, train rides, tea cups, and an inflatable play area are also all back for another year.
