Two teenagers have been charged in connection with stab attacks in Thornaby as two others are arrested over “targeted disorder and violence".

Police were called to several serious incidents last weekend including two serious assaults on Saturday (October 10) and home rammings on Sunday (October 12).

The “targeted disorder and violence” has sparked several orders across the town, including a 48-hour dispersal order, to allow officers to stop and search individuals and break up groups.

The first incident saw police called to Lansdowne Road and Thorntree Road on Saturday afternoon after two men, aged 19 and 33, were found with serious injuries.

It has not been established exactly where the attacks took place, although police said their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Two men, both 19, and a man, 28, were arrested on suspicion of section 18 GBH wounding with intent, while a 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Cleveland Police confirmed last night that the two 19-year-olds had been charged and remanded in custody to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court today (October 13).

The force also confirmed that two others have been arrested in connection with the disorder.

This includes a second incident on Sunday, which saw police called to Westbury Street and Northumberland Road after vehicles were rammed into two homes.

The dispersal order remains in place until 5pm tomorrow while the Section 60 and 60AA orders are in force until 7pm tonight.

Police say investigations will continue to pursue and disrupt those who want to partake in violence and organised criminality.

Officers will remain visible in Thornaby in the coming days.
