York is set to host the return of the UK Film Production Summit.
The event takes place on November 5 and is expected to attract more than 150 industry professionals, including senior producers, commissioners, and development executives from across the country.
Luke Scott, CEO of Ridley Scott Associates (RSA), will be in attendance.
The summit is part of the BAFTA-qualifying Aesthetica Film Festival and aims to offer a platform for national industry leaders to meet outside London to discuss trends, challenges and opportunities shaping UK screen production.

York’s growing reputation as a creative hub is further reinforced by hosting the summit.
The UK Film Production Summit was launched last year and returns by popular demand, signalling strong interest in a major industry gathering beyond the capital.
"The central question is therefore not simply how much the UK produces, but what stories it can continue to make, who gets to make them and how those stories find their audiences."
The event comes at a critical time for UK film and television.
Independent producers are facing tighter commissioning budgets, rising production costs and an evolving marketplace driven by global streaming platforms.
Despite the challenges, technological advances, international collaboration and new distribution models are opening up opportunities for UK filmmakers to reach wider audiences and explore new storytelling formats.
This year’s summit reflects the depth and breadth of the UK’s creative industries.
Attendees include representatives from Film4, Working Title, BBC Film, BBC Children’s, Sky, ITV, Channel 4, Aardman, Sister, Element Pictures, Studio Lambert, Raw Films, Cinesite, Ridley Scott Associates, and Quay Street Productions.
Major industry bodies such as the BFI, Screen Yorkshire, Film London, and the Production Guild of Great Britain will also be represented, alongside global players like Sony, Paramount/Channel 5, and Banijay Rights.
The event will also highlight the growing intersections between film, television and other creative sectors such as gaming, music, advertising, animation and immersive media.
Companies like EA, Activision, Audible, RADA and the AI Media Institute will be present.
One highlight of the programme is Telling Stories Through Music, which will explore the vital role of music in film and television narratives.
Another key session, Trends in Storytelling, will examine how shifts in audience behaviour are influencing commissioning and content strategy, particularly in an age of franchises and streaming dominance.
For York’s creative community, the summit offers rare access to national industry leaders and the chance to build relationships that could shape the future of British screen culture.
The event is part of the Aesthetica Film Festival, which runs from November 4 to 8 across the city centre.
