Thousands of eager Halloween fans – including stars from Emmerdale and Hollyoaks – were first to experience a new type of scare attraction at the sold-out opening weekend of Hallowscream at York Maze.
The new ‘Corntagion’ scare experience joins the five existing scare houses.
Hallowscream opened at York Maze on Friday 9 October and will run until Sunday 1 November.

“Each year we add something new to Hallowscream, and this year joining the line-up is our sixth scare attraction and a UK first,” said York Maze owner and creator of Hallowscream, Tom Pearcy.
“Corntagion starts with a tractor trailer ride into the corn maze, however things soon start to go wrong and guests have to get off the trailer to navigate the rest of the corn maze on foot being chased by zombies! It ends with a decontamination clinic which has its own surprises inside.
“The combination of trailer ride, corn maze walk and scare house in one attraction is a UK first and has been getting fantastic feedback on our opening weekend.
“We have also made some big changes to the stage show with new acts and a spectacular finale at the end of the night with a dramatic flashmob from our Halloween characters.
“The balcony of our VIP Bar Lucifer’s Lounge has spectacular views of the main stage with dancers and fire acts performing throughout the night. Inside Lucifer’s Lounge you can drink with the devil himself and try our new signature Blood Bag cocktail!”

Hallowscream is open selected nights until Sun 1 November. Tickets start at £30, including booking fee, with more expensive tickets at the weekend. The Corntagion Ride is an additional £10 if booked online.
