A cannabis farm worth an estimated £650,000 has been found behind a fake wall.

The discovery was made on Friday after officers from the Divisional Intelligence Unit and Neighbourhood Policing Team executed a warrant at an empty industrial warehouse on Pellon Lane in Halifax.

During a search of the premises, officers found a concealed false wall leading to a basement area where a large-scale cannabis cultivation operation was being run.

3 men arrested

Three men were found at the scene and were arrested and charged.

They have been remanded in custody.

What police had to say

A police spokesperson said: "This is a significant result and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to tackling organised crime and drug production within our communities.

"By dismantling this cultivation operation, a substantial quantity of cannabis has been prevented from reaching our streets, helping to reduce the harm associated with illegal drug use and the criminality that surrounds it.

"We would like to thank members of the public who provided information and intelligence which helped lead to this warrant being obtained and executed.

"Information from our communities plays a vital role in identifying and disrupting criminal activity."

Look out for signs, say police

Police are encouraging anyone with concerns about suspected drug activity to report it.

Signs to look out for include the smell of cannabis, covered windows, unusual ventilation systems, or other suspicious behaviour.
