Police have issued an appeal after a disturbing incident involving two ponies.
The animals allegedly had their nose whiskers burned off in a field between Ben Rhydding and Burley-in-Wharfedale on Sunday afternoon.
West Yorkshire Police’s Wildlife and Rural Crime Unit have appealed for information.
A spokesperson said: "Please if you know whose horses these are get the owner to get in touch so we can record a crime and start the process of trying to identify suspects."
The ponies are in the field down from Clevedon retirement village if you are walking to or from Burley via the train line.

A member of the public posted on the unit’s Facebook page, saying: "Between 12.30pm and 4.30pm on Sunday, someone thought it was a good idea to burn the whiskers off our ponies' noses.
"We actually have no words for this and we are very upset.
"If anyone saw anything or knows who did it, please can you let me know so I can pass the details on to the police."
Police are urging anyone with information to contact them.
