A man accused of raping his victim while he was pinned down has categorically denied the allegation.
Michael Boslem admitted stabbing and robbing the man but told jurors he was ‘one hundred per cent’ certain he had not raped him.
Boslem admitted stabbing the man after he assaulted his girlfriend, Gemma Watson, Teesside Crown Court heard.
The alleged victim admitted hitting Watson after she showed him a knife tucked into her waistband, jurors heard.
Boslem denied that co-accused John Hyde held the man down during the alleged rape and said Claire Dowson did not stab him inside her home.
Boslem’s barrister, Michael Cahill, asked whether he raped the victim. Boslem replied: “One hundred per cent no.”
Mr Cahill asked Boslem why he had pleaded guilty to wounding with intent and theft.
He replied: “Because I done them offences.”
Boslem began taking drugs after his pregnant girlfriend died in a car crash shortly before his 18th birthday, the court heard.
Boslem said he was under the influence of drugs on April 18 when he stabbed the man in the left calf and confirmed Hyde also attacked him.
Mr Cahill asked: “After you stabbed him, did you do anything else to him?”
Boslem replied: “I definitely didn’t rape him, if that’s what you mean.”
Boslem denied that anyone held the victim down or removed his clothes.
During cross-examination, prosecutor Shaun Dodds asked why Boslem thought the victim told police he had been raped.
Boslem replied that the man was a ‘fantasist’ and that it never happened.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was held inside a house on Holly Park, Ushaw Moor, where three people allegedly stabbed and sexually abused him.
The alleged victim told police he feared he would die during the attack, while the jury heard that a pendant containing his grandmother's ashes, jewellery, a mobile phone and bank cards were stolen.
Watson declined to give evidence in her defence, the jury was told.
Boslem, 36, of Skippers Meadows, Durham, admitted wounding with intent and theft but denies rape.
