An anti-yob order to “disrupt violent behaviour" is set to come into force after stab attacks and “targeted” home rammings.
Officers have been called to several serious incidents across Thornaby in the last few days and have brought in a 48-hour dispersal order from 5pm today (October 12).
It follows serious stab attacks on Lansdowne Road and Thorntree Road on Saturday and two vehicles being driven into houses on Northumberland Road and Westbury Street overnight.

The order will come into force alongside Section 60 and 60AA orders, which will be in place for 24 hours from 7pm tonight.
All three of the orders give officers enhanced powers to stop and search certain individuals, remove face coverings and break up groups of people and move them on.
Officers were called to Lansdowne Road and Thorntree Road at around 5.30pm on Saturday afternoon after two men, aged 19 and 33, were found with serious injuries.
It has not been established exactly where the attacks took place, although police said their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Two men, both 19, and a man, 28, were arrested on suspicion of section 18 GBH wounding with intent, while a 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
They all remain in police custody at this time.

Pictures taken at the scene earlier today show a police car guarding both the homes, which have been taped off.
The front windows of both homes were visibly damaged, with glass scattered across the pavement on Westbury Street. Detectives were also seen working on Northumberland Road.

Chief Inspector Jamie Bell, from Stockton’s neighbourhood policing team, said: “There will be a highly visible policing presence in Thornaby with officers conducting patrols on foot and in vehicles to provide reassurance and to deter criminality.
